FORMER MINISTER CHIRANJIBI WAGLE RELEASED Kathmandu, 29 April: Former Minister Chiranjibi Wagle was released from jail Sunday after serving part of a 18-month jail sentence and paying a Rs. 23 million for official corruption when he was minister. The NC leader from the Sher Bahadur Deuba camp was freed on supreme court order. Wagle said he was innocent after his release. “I was victim of political vendetta. I am innocent,” he said and blamed ‘state injustice’. Wagle referred to thousands of persons killed during the Maoist insurgency and thousands of maimed.
