MINISTER’S AIDE YADAV SENT TO JAIL
Kathmandu, 1 March: The Special Court has ordered to keep Nagendra Yadav, private secretary of the Minister of State for Forests, Laxman Mahato, in custody for 15 days for investigations. Yadav is accused of taking kickbacks, RSS reports.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had sought a custody term of 30 days. However, a bench comprising chairman of the Special Court Gauri Bahadur Karki and member duo Om Prakash Mishra and Kedar Prasad Chalise issued an order to keep Yadav in custody for 15 days.
Yadav was caught red-handed by a team of the CIAA led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Lal Mani Acharya from a restaurant at local Anamnagar on Wednesday.
The farmland of 77 local residents of the Seri VDC in Mugu District was acquired by the government while declaring the Rara National Park some 36 years back. The amount of Rs. 3249,000 as compensation to the 77 villagers for their farmland had been stalled till now and Yadav is learnt to have asked for bribe from the Mugu locals for forwarding the file for sanctioning the compensation.

NAC GETS BACK STOLEN BOEING WHEELS UPDATE
Kathmandu, 1 March: Nepal Airlines Corporation has got its aeroplane landing gear back on Thursday, RSS reports.
The two wheels worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were lost from the 9 NABC plane some five months back.
The wheels were brought by an Air India light and are now kept in the Customs Office at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Executive Chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation, Manroop Shahi said the landing gear were found at the Immigration Department of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in India and brought by the Indian Airways.
However, no information on who took the wheels and for what purpose has been acquired till date.
The wheels are kept in reserve in every international flight for the emergency use.
After the NAC got its plane wheels back, the NAC is again mulling on what to do to the employees who were meted out punishment on charge of involving in the theft of wheels earlier.

NATION HASN’T REACHED YAMARAJ STATUS SAYS PM BHATTARAI
Kathmandu, 1 March: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Thursday claimed that the country’s situation has not worsen since he has sworn in as the prime minster of the nation, greatwayonline.com reports.
PM Bhattarai, speaking at Lumbini-Sagarmath Peace Campaigne March -2012 in Lumbini, alleged that rumors were spread that the country’s situation worsened after he baecame the prime minister.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has claimed that the situation of the country has not deteriorated since he was sworn in as the prime minister of the country. “The earlier governments were not like mythical Ramrajya,” said PM Bhattarai, hinting at the remarks about deterioration of situation. “And the current government has not become worse like Yamarajya.”
Meanwhile, he expressed his confidence that the political parties would forged consensus and draft the new constitution within the stipulated time frame.
“We will complete the tasks of peace process and statute drafting as the parties have been showing flexibility on their part for the twin tasks,” Bhattarai said.
