More VDC secretaries resign

Kathmandu, 29 June: Seventy-three VDC secretaries from Parbat and Dolakha districts resigned collectively by submitting their resignations to the local development officers of the hill districts Tuesday.
They citied lack of security at work.
The secretaries who conduct administrative functions have receiving threats from local groups pushing autonomy.
The threat has spread nation-wide especially in the hill districts.

Load-shedding reduced further

Kathmandu, 29 June: Load-shedding will be reduced to 14 hours a week from Wednesday, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) announced Tuesday.
The weekly power will be reduced from 35 to 14 hours with the arrival of the monsoon.
