PM Nepal, Hu Jintao talks Tuesday

Kathmandu, 28 Dec.: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal will hold talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao and other top leaders in Beijing Tuesday.
He arrived in the Chinese capital Monday from Xian where he presented a statue of Lord Buddha to a monastery.
Nepal returns home Thursday.

Load-shedding increased to 51 hours

Kathmandu, 28 Dec.: Load-shedding will almost be doubled to 51 hours a week from Wednesday in the peak winter season, Nepal Electricity Authority announced Monday.
Power outage will be increased from 28 to 51 hours a week.
The alibi is reduced level of water in rivers and India’s non-supply of power.

Second rescheduling of Maoist child soldier discharge

Kathmandu, 28 Dec.: For the second time the discharge of 3,000 plus Maoist child soldiers from UN camps has been rescheduled.
The discharge that was to have begun Sunday was rescheduled from Friday.
The release will now begin 6 January and will be completed in 33 days.
This was agreed at a meeting between representatives of government, Maoists and UN representatives.
The discharge that was to begin Sunday would have been completed in 40 days.
Maoists asked for the reschedule for preparations.
