Swine flu detected for first time in Nepal

Kathmandu, 30 June: Swine flu which has spread to 113 countries from Mexico has been detected in Nepal for the first time.
The disease has been detected in neighbouring India and China as well.
Three members of an American family who flew in from Qatar Monday tested positive for the virus AH1N1 that causes the disease; their identity, at the family’s request, has been kept secret.
The disease was detected in a man, 44,
His wife, 38, and the couple’s eight-year-old son.
Authorities immediately sounded a health.

UCPN (Maoist) urges national govt. under its leadership

Kathmandu, 30 June: The politburo meeting of UCPN (Maoist) Monday unanimously authorized Chairman Prachanda to talk with other parties to from a national unity government under the party’s leadership.
Prachanda said immediately called the government of Madhav Kumar Nepal a ‘water bubble’ that will burst in weeks.
Nearly one month after his appointment, Nepal has not yet formed a complete government.
“Soon there will be an environment for the formation of a government under our leadership,” Prachanda told reporters.
“The new government will take the peace process to a logical conclusion, accomplish the task of drafting the new constitution writing, safeguarding national sovereignty and carry out army integration and rehabilitation in the spirit of the comprehensive peace accord and as per the spirit of the special committee formed by the previous government which I headed,” Prachanda added.
Prachanda headed the committee on major parties to rehabilitate 19,000 Maoist combatants in society with option for some to be integrated in Nepal Army.
The Maoist strongman said his party won’t join a government led by CPN-UML.
But CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanaath Khanal Monday urged such a government under his party.

Nepal, Pakistan agree to jointly take on terrorism

Kathmandu, 30 June: After three days of bilateral talks, Nepal and Pakistan Monday agreed to jointly tackle terrorism in South Asia.
“Prime Minister Nepal assured the Pakistani foreign secretary of his commitment not to allow terrorists to use Nepalese soil.
“They agreed to work together to fight terrorism in the region,” Rajan Bhattarai, foreign advisor of the prime minister said after Madhav Kumar Nepal held discussions with visiting Foreign Secretary Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Nepal has been invited to visit Pakistan.

Former king attends wedding of your blogger

Kathmandu, 30 June: Former king Gyanendra Monday evening attended the wedding of your blogger’s daughter Jaya Rajeshwori Rana with Dipesh Budhathoki.
The former king spent nearly two hours with members of Bhola B Rana’s family at his residence.
Jaya is a computer teacher while Budhathoki runs a compost factory in Kirtipur manufacturing nearly 20,000 tons of compost that helps to curb fungal disease in rural Nepal.
Budhathoki also runs the popular tantra restaurant in Thamel.
