Nepal donates $100,000 to Sri Lankan displaced

Kathmandu, 27 May: The newly installed government of Madhav Kumar Nepal Wednesday donated $100,000 to Sri Lankans displaced by the civil war.
A cabinet meting took the decision Wednesday.

Madhav Kumar Nepal given responsibility to decide future of army chief

Kathmandu, 27 May: In a major decision, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has been given responsibility by ruling parties to decide the future of Gen Rukmangud Katawal by retaining the army chief.
But an understanding has been already reached to retain the chief who was sacked by the outgoing Maoists unilaterally.

Suresh Pradhan appointed envoy to Germany

Kathmandu, 27 May: Career diplomat Suresh Pradhan has been appointed ambassador to Germany by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
Hari Bahadur Thapa, foreign affairs advisor of dethroned Maoist Prime Minister Prachanda, objected his appointed at a parliament hearing committee.
Pradhan was charged for leaking state secret by revealing China had proposed a new peace treaty with Nepal.
Pradhan countered by saying Prachanda aides leaked the information not him.
