Six CPN-UML ministers to join govt Friday

Kathmandu, 29 Aug: Six CPN-UML ministers will join government Friday after Maoists agreed to give second ranking to former deputy prime minister Bam Deb Gautam who will be home minister.
CPN-UML stayed away from government after Dr Baburam Bhattarai was given second ranking.
The issue was resolved Thursday after the return of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda from China.

PM Prachanda visiting India next month

Kathmandu, 29 Aug: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is visiting India in September, The Himalayan Times reports quoting Nepalese Ambassador to India Durgesh Man Singh.
“He will be here next month before he goes for the UN General Assembly’s meeting in New York scheduled foe the third week of September. We are working out mutually convenient dates,” Singh was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav Thursday held discussions with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee in NewDelhi where a meeting of BIMSTEK foreign ministers is being held.

Kathmandu, 29 Aug: Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission Dr Jagdish Chandra Pokhrel and six other members resigned Thursday with the change of government.
Pokhrel was a Congress nominee.

117 Nepalis with US embassy saked

Kathmandu, 29 Aug: Altogether 117 Nepalis with the US embassy are being dismissed, Naya Parika reports.
For the first time Nepalis are being dismissed in such big numbers on Ghatastaphana 30 September.
Security guards are being dismissed and they have been notified.
